About

Hardware, software, and the server behind them

I am Prakash, the founder of Ajvika. My work sits where hardware meets software — IoT devices, embedded systems and robotics on one side; Python, PHP Laravel, Android apps and the servers that run them on the other. I design the circuit, write the firmware, build the app and deploy the server, so every project ships as one working system.

Every product at Ajvika started as a real problem someone brought to us — a parent waiting for a school bus, a guard proving a patrol, a phone overcharging overnight. We do not stop at a demo. We build it, test it where it will be used, and keep it running.

That is also how I teach. Students and teams who work with us learn on practical, real-time projects with real devices and live servers, not slides. If it works in the field, it is finished.

Journey

My first personal project, a bike lock in 2007

Before college, I built personal projects on my own to show what I could do: a bike lock in 2007 that Eenadu and TV9 reported on, and home-safety devices in Eenadu in 2012. In June 2012 I joined Aditya Engineering College, now Aditya University, and from there to students winning prizes at IIT the same rule held: build it and make it work.

  1. 2007
    Personal project 1

Bike locking control unit and tracking unit

My first personal project: a control unit that locks a bike against theft, with a tracking unit to find it. It was reported in Eenadu and shown on TV9 news.

    • Eenadu newspaper
    • TV9 news channel

I had no phone or camera with memory at that time, so no photos, clippings or recordings were kept.

    Personal project 2

Home-safety devices in Eenadu: “Be careful, brother!”

Built on my own before college. On 27 March 2012 Eenadu covered five devices I made that work over mobile signals and SMS: a security light, an SMS switchboard, a gas leakage alert, vehicle security and a mobile sniffer.

    First project at Aditya

    Automatic railway gate control system

My first project at Aditya Engineering College, shown on Engineers Day 2012: a working model of a level crossing where the gate closes by itself as a train approaches and opens once it has passed.

  5. 2015
The prize-winning student with the robot, the certificate and Aditya faculty
    Student prize

Second prize at Petrofiesta 2015, IIT Kharagpur

A student I mentored won second prize at Petrofiesta 2015, IIT Kharagpur, and came back to Aditya with the certificate and the robot.

In the news and on stage

Eenadu, News Today, Samarlakota, 27 March 2012

“Be careful, brother!”

My second personal project, built before I joined Aditya Engineering College in June 2012. Eenadu featured Juttuka Prakash, then 22, from Navara in Samarlakota mandal, for building home-safety devices that work over ordinary mobile phone signals and SMS, at a time when this was new even for engineering students.

Five inventions in the article

  • Security lightA sensor switches on a warning light when someone comes near the house.
  • Digital switchboardTurn lights, fans and appliances at home off or on by SMS from anywhere.
  • Gas leakage alertSends a message to the owner's phone the moment gas leaks in the kitchen.
  • Vehicle securityBike security that sends a message or missed call to the owner if it is tampered with.
  • Mobile snifferDetects phone use within 8 to 15 metres, for exam halls and offices.

“Health and power savings together”

A remarkable experiment by Aditya Engineering students

Pedalling a cycle is the simplest exercise there is, and the energy spent doing it usually goes to waste. Our final-year ECE team at Aditya Engineering College, Surampalem turned that effort into electricity: a digital display shows the calories burned for as long as you pedal, and the same energy is stored in a battery that can run household loads. The model was demonstrated on the college campus.

  1. PedalThe rear wheel of a standard cycle, fixed on a stand, drives a generator through a belt.
  2. MeasureA microcontroller with a handlebar display shows the calories burned while pedalling.
  3. StoreThe generator output charges a 12 V battery through a charging circuit.
  4. UseThe stored power feeds a socket board and lamp for household use.

Near-space project

Balloon satellite

Balloon satellite launch at Aditya University, Surampalem
Aditya University, Surampalem

We build and launch our own balloon satellite: a weather balloon that carries a small payload of sensors, a GPS tracker and a camera to near-space altitude, sending data back to the ground in real time.

Two launches so far have not reached their goal. Each one costs a lot to build and fly, and each one taught us exactly what to fix. The next flight is being prepared now.

  1. Launch attempt 1 Flown

Launched from Aditya University, Surampalem. The mission did not succeed; the flight data shaped the redesign.

  2. Launch attempt 2 Flown

Second launch with an improved payload. Still not a full success, but we got closer and learned more.

  3. Next launch In preparation

Payload, tracking and recovery are being rebuilt. Sponsors and partners are welcome to join this flight.

What the payload carries

  • GPS tracking
  • Altitude & pressure
  • Temperature & humidity
  • Onboard camera
  • Live telemetry to ground station
